Why Printed Advertisements are Still Crucial

These days, it’s easy to get so caught up in web marketing that it’s easy to forget about the world of print. To some, it seems like an ancient form of communication that a cutting-edge business has no need to waste its time on. In the Singapore at the very least, newspapers appear to be dying, and printing companies struggle to make ends meet. Yet although web marketing is one of the sharpest tools in the box, the older tradition of print marketing is still an extremely important technique.
It’s hard to think of a printed form of advertising that doesn’t have advantages: business cards are great for their portability, and product brochures provide everything from advertisement to buying method for the customer. Even with waning circulations, magazines and newspapers still reach millions of people every day—can your business afford to miss out on an opportunity like that?
Let’s go into detail on one method of print advertising for a moment. Attractive flyers, like the ones Visual Artistics has designed for several of its clients, have several advantages over their internet counterparts. They offer more space than almost any other form of advertisement—even large banner ads on the web and TV commercials simply lack the room to be really informative. Also, whereas those types of advertisements are put in places where people often just want to get past them, flyers can be put in places where people will have nothing more interesting to do: waiting rooms, outside classrooms, next to lines, etc. They can also make a great informative handout at conventions and other events, and provide the interested reader with the link to your website.
While the path of print advertising may be well-worn, it still leads to exactly where you need to go. Don’t ignore one of the best techniques available for getting word about your business out there.

I am starting a marriage ceremony arranging business and working on my business cards. Are there any thoughts on making use of shiny coated or uncoated company cards? I have a friend who utilized coated and I can't use pencil to write on it but I can use pen (in situation the customers want to create some thing or I do). Thanks for your input!
Non shiny coated would be a better choice if you wish to write on the business cards.
